Claude Certified Developer (Foundations)

The Developer certification tests hands-on building: Claude API mechanics, agents and workflows with the Agent SDK, Claude Code, model selection and cost management, prompt and context engineering, security, and tools and MCP servers. Its blueprint is the most granular of the four — 25 individually weighted sub-skills, with a third of the exam sitting in Applications and Integration alone.

Who the exam is for

Anthropic aims this exam at AI engineers and software developers with one to five years of engineering experience and at least six months of hands-on work with Claude or comparable LLM systems, proficient in Python and/or TypeScript and fluent with REST APIs and CLI tools. Recommended, not required — the credential is awarded on exam performance alone.

Scoring is scaled from 100 to 1,000, with 720 needed to pass.

How do I register for the official exam?

Registration runs through Anthropic's Partner Academy, which is currently open to Anthropic partner organisations. That gap is exactly why this site exists: complete preparation for people without partner access.
